MOM's MAD
Don Tornow is the creator of the 1955 Chevrolet Nomad presently under reconstruction for the second time. Now a retired union carpenter he has dedicated much of his retired time to the car making it better than the first time around.
Don has learned many things this time including welding way beyond his previous skills. This included complete replacement of the entire floors with reproduction sheet metal.
He is a very dedicated and through individual and will not give up until it is just right! (Especially when he has his son Devin reminding him what his dad taught him, "Do it right or don't do it at all!") I guess all those years of being a detail carpenter had paid off.
In June 2003 Don had kidney surgery to remove 5% of his right kidney to remove a cancerous portion. All is well right now and Don is back on track to get the car finished! THANKS GOD for the great news to let Don finish his project car and enjoy his hard efforts!
