MOM's MAD

Devin got his interest in cars listening to his dad's storys of his days of youth growing you with '32, '34, & '36 Fords and the various events that are engraved in his memory.  While early Fords were part of Don's memories, they did include the '57 Chevy that he and his wife Elaine had during the early years of marriage.  Family life transformed vehicles to station wagons that formed many a memory in Devin's mind as he grew-up.  Family vacations sleeping in the back cargo area as they traveled to the new vacation hot spot!  But nothing matched going to the drive-in movie and watching the movie while laying on couch cushions in the lugage rack on top of the Olds Custom Cruiser!  Try that in your Toyota!

One day Don dragged home a '57 four door sedan w/ a straight 6 for his two boys to experiment.  The '57 was a basket case and while sparking their interest it was just not very desirable.  Devin convinced his dad to look for a Nomad and while browsing throught the Sunday paper Don found the 1955 Nomad that is now Mom's Mad.

more story to follow.

-------------
Devin has acted as a Consultant for most of the project since he lives 165 miles away in Peoria, IL.  He has spent many weekend in Chicago Heights in 2003 and 2004 getting the Nomad wired up and ready to get rolling again!

Devin is presently a mechanical engineer in Engine Research at Caterpillar Inc. working on future diesel engine emissions reduction technologies.  In addition to his fondness for the Nomad and other '55-'57s (His own dream is another '55 Nomad or a '57 150 sedan, aka Black Widow), he loves his Chevy Caprice 9C1 cars ('87 & '95) along with his love of Buicks (Turbos, GS & Sportwagons) and presently has 1983 Regal T-Type with a Turbo 3.8L under construction for a new engine (delays, delays, delays!)
Take a look as some of his pictures on FLICKR (and collections of other pictures).
